October Edition

It's turned very autumnal down here in Kent this month, not the sort of weather you would get in Malawi! As we sit with our hot cups of tea under a blanket reading all of the amazing reports that are coming from Malawi, we thank God for his continued goodness and favour to the work that is going on, not

only in Malawi, but here in the UK schools. We've had some amazing stories this month but we were only able to pick just 3...

Bedgebury Cycle and Walking Fundraiser

We had a brilliant time at our first cycling fundraising event, held at the stunning Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest. We are so grateful to those who came along, cycled and raised money for Starfish Malawi. We were so delighted that His Excellency, the High Commissioner of Malawi to the UK, supported the event and cycled the route. We raised a fantastic £1,380 and the money is still coming in! Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts. If you'd like to get involved with any of our events, please visit our website or click here.

Blackboards4Classrooms

We are so thankful for all of you who have supported our appeal. In addition to individual donations we have had funds from schools, churches and trusts. This has enabled us to reach an amazing figure of £ 7,298 from the appeal, which means we can provide 243 blackboards!! We know that the teachers will be so pleased that they will now be able to write on a smooth surface enabling the learners to read clearly what is written. This in turn will aid their education.

Head of Education visits one of our link schools at Ngolowindo

The District Education Manager and his supervisor for primary schools recently visited Ngolowindo Model Primary school to see the input that Starfish Malawi has in the school. The DEM was amazed to witness the great and remarkable projects that have taken place in the school. To read the full story please click here.
