Angela has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, in senior positions. She was responsible for helping to deliver the first regulatory framework in the UK to protect customers who buy general insurance products. She now works as a consultant offering strategic, operational and regulatory advice to diverse companies.
As a trustee of another charity Angela is used to working with projects which support young women from under privileged backgrounds, through their education and into the employment market. She is also a non-executive director. Angela has first-hand experience of how education can improve career prospects, and what contribution education can play in improving the community. As former chair of the Diversity Committee of the Chartered Insurance Institute she is passionate about equal opportunities. When she left school she was fortunate to enter the insurance market as at that time the banks did not allow women to take banking exams!
Like her fellow trustees, Angela firmly believes that education is not only a basic right but that it can bring about a real and positive change in society.
