Founded in 1995 The Citizens Foundation is aimed at promoting upward social mobility in Pakistan's most deprived areas by providing access to quality education. A studentship from The Citizens Foundation enables access to further education without having to compromise on the basic necessities of life, such as food, water and clothing.

Pakistan has the second highest number of out-of-school children in the world, after Nigeria. The government in Pakistan spends less than 5% of its GDP on education, resulting in inadequate schools without electricity, running water or toilets.

Over the years The Citizens Foundation have developed state of the art learning facilities, which promote a high quality of education accessible to all regardless of religious, economic or ethnic background. To maintain this high quality of education the all-female teaching faculty undergo rigorous compulsory in-house training. Teacher training courses include over 100 hours of Pre-Service Training to cover child psychology and character building, as well as 70 hours of annual In-Service Training to keep up-to-date with the latest pedagogical trends.
In April 2015 The Citizens Foundation reached a milestone serving 165,000 children, in 1,060 school Units, and employing 8,900 female teachers in 109 Towns and cities of Pakistan. With your donation we can help build on this success and build a better future for Pakistan.
